ÖNDER met with Students from Western Thrace of Turkey
Çekmeköy Şehit Ömer Halisdemir Girls Anatolian Imam Hatip High School students went to China to attend the World Robot Olympics on July 20-25, 2018.
The World Robot Olympiad (WRO) meeting was held in Izmir, Turkey. The WRO is an initiative, which aims to develop young people's design and problem-solving skills through educational robot competitions and activities.
58 countries participated in competitions
Having tried to be successful in the competition, students produced projects to solve the problem of hunger. Istanbul Çekmeköy Şehit Ömer Halisdemir Girls Anatolian Imam Hatip High School came third among 42 schools in Turkey. The students were granted the award to participate in the World Robot Olympics in China where 58 different countries attended.
The project of the team participating in the international competition in China was about planting suitable seedlings in appropriate agricultural lands and performing the tasks with autonomous robots to solve the world hunger problem. Tahir Dingin and Ahmet Bilsel, deputy principals of the high school founded the School's Robotics and Coding Club, which started its activities in February 2018.
